Gas Assist - "Better Products for Less Cost"

Home · Gas Assist

Gas assist injection molding has been around for approximately 20 years. In introducing gas pressure during the injection phase of the molding cycle less clamping force is required. Therefore, larger parts can be produced on smaller tonnage machines.

The process offers the injection molder solutions to many of the inherent problems associated with injection molding thick walled parts. Machine cycle times can be shorter; less resin is used and smaller tonnage machines all add up to less cost.

Some of the highlights of gas assist are:
  • Less polymer is needed
  • Reduced molding cycles
  • Lower clamping forces
  • Reduced part weight
  • Less molded-in stress
  • Sink mark reduction
  • Less time to cure
  • Less warpage and distortion
Applications - most solid parts such as:
  • Furniture (chair legs, table bases)
  • Pallets & crates
  • Tool handles
Alladin Plastics has the capacity of "Gas Assist" molding on machine sizes ranging from 850 tons to 1500 tons.
